Description:
Vickery's Crescent Avenue Bar and Grill in Atlanta was opened to the public on August 25th, 1983 by three guys (Sam/ Chip and Jerry) and a dog (Dave) as a place to get a good stiff drink and a cheeseburger. We called the place Vickery's after Margaret Vickery, for whom the house was built. Until the late 1970's, Margaret lived in and operated an antique and fabric shop in the house. Rumor, based on facts, has it that Margaret Mitchell used to visit Margaret Vickery for hours on end (in part because she liked Margaret Vickery and because she hated her own house up the street). Speculation has it that a great deal of "Gone With The Wind" was written in that house. A baldheaded regular who had been a fixture since day one (Stalker) said, "Hey boys, let's go to Charleston, people live longer by the sea."..he quit his job-threw his bar stool in the back of the Cadillac, and here we are. He and his baby boy (Jason), found the spot and we went to work. Vickery's Beaufain Street Bar & Grill opened April 27, 1993 in an old Goodyear tire store (you can still see the writing on the wall), and won a Carolopolis award for renovations. Vickery's Beaufain Street Bar & Grill was the first opened in Charleston and our large group of family and friends has spread from here. With the open patio and easy access to shopping on King Street, it has fast become home to everyone stopping in over the years. Vickery's 1313 Shrimp Boat Lane Bar & Grill opened February 13,1999 in one of the country's most picturesque locations... Shem Creek, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. With water on three sides, all tables are good tables at Vickery's. You can stroll outside onto the deck where there is additional seating, the shark bar and telescopic viewers for a closer look at nature. Vickery's also provides first-come-first-serve public docking for customers. The only thing more fun than spending the day on your boat is spending the day on your boat and docking for a bite to eat at your favorite restaurant! It is Vickery's intent to serve a variety of dishes/some simple and creative, some complex from various regions and ethnicities, consistently good and fairly priced. All in a friendly, fun and casual atmosphere with attentive, professional service. Please let us know how we are living up to our goals.
