IT'S FUN! IT'S FREE! IT'S THE FOOD SWAP!
Welcome to our every couple of month meet up where we can trade homemade, homegrown, or foraged food - and more - with each other.
This is a chance for our community to get together and swap homemade goodies. Make things that you enjoy and let's trade them. Think canned tomato sauce, produce or herbs from your garden, fresh bread, backyard eggs, soup, granola, popsicles, or pickles. Be creative! Every once in a while, we'll add handmade arts and crafts into the mix so we can all create and share in a handmade community.
The swap itself will take place around 4:00, but please show up as close to 3:00 as possible to get set up; sometimes stragglers don't get a chance to swap, and it's a great opportunity to try some tasty treats and get to know some new folks! Plus feel free to pop over to the bar to order yourself one of Wrecking Bar's amazing beers or snacks! So reserve your spot, bring your goodies and get ready for some barter magic!
***FAQs***
1. How does it work?First, RSVP so we know you're coming! On the day of the swap, bring your homemade goodies (prepackaged for easy trading) and place them on the table(s). If there are lots of people then you'll be given a "bid sheet" to fill out. You'll place your bid sheet next to your items and set out any samples for others to try. The bid sheets are so you can walk away from your food and try other samples. Then others will either write down an offer or just talk to you about trading food. Usually, we do a one for one trade. For example, one can of tomato sauce for one pack of cookies. 2. Who can participate?Everyone is welcome. As long as you bring something you made, grew or foraged yourself! 3. Does it cost anything to participate? It's free!4. How long do swaps last? The food swaps will last about 1 hour give or take depending on how many people attend. 5. How many homemade items should I bring? The amount you want to bring is completely up to you! Bring as many types of items or amount of one item as you'd like to go home with.6. Is the food safe?Since the food swap is considered a private social club the health department doesn't regulate how the food is prepared. We ask that all swap participants adhere to an honor c
