We have at one time or another been asked 'how are you doing?' As men we have been conditioned and in some cases trained not to respond honestly when asked that question. Instead we provide some high-level generic response, while holding back and internalizing what is truly going on.
Undugu, Swahili for 'Brotherhood', is a group formed in 2018 by four men to openly share what is really going on in our lives without judgment. Our goal is to provide our members with a safe environment via our monthly Chop It Up sessions. Each meeting providing an opportunity for men to meet, connect and over time establish a bond of Brotherhood. We provide a space for open sharing of personal, cultural, economic, political and professional matters. All discussions at our Undugu meetings are confidential.
Our September meeting, the eighth in our series of sessions, is hosted by the Co-Founder of Just Add Honey Tea Company. We will meet at the Old 4th Ward Just Add Honey Tea Company Store (684 John Wesley Dobbs Ave NE Unit E, Atlanta, GA 30312) near the Atlanta BeltLine.
