Description

Wes Byne of Constantine Engineering & Oscar Flite from Augusta GA will be presenting on Open-Source Electronics in Stormwater Monitoring

Event Details

Augusta has a Phase I-Medium MS4 that covers approximately 300 square miles. In 2014, a program was developed to measure rainfall and runoff in the receiving systems using open-source hardware and software. Currently there are 18 real-time stations deployed in the system full-time. The data gathering effort indicated that small and mid-sized detention facilities have little to no impact on the receiving system, while overall the system is experiencing flashy flows and high volumes. Data will be presented from the analysis, along with a discussion of sediment delivery in the system and implications for future management of the MS4 system.
