Popular Car Show Fueled with Excitement for Recent CF Breakthroughs

The 13th annual Cars & ‘Q for the Cause, an award-winning car show and party hosted by Choate Construction Company to support the Georgia Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), will return to Choate Construction’s headquarters on October 22 with extra fuel and fervor for a cystic fibrosis (CF) cure. The popular fundraising party, well known for its 100+ unique cars, tasty BBQ, craft brews, and live music, has caught the hearts of more than 1,000 attendees each year. Just last year, Cars & ‘Q raised more than $500,000 for CF, the progressive genetic lung disease affecting close to 30,000 in the U.S.
Event founder and coordinator Emily Bridges says this year’s show is especially poignant as the CFF continues to announce massive breakthroughs in drug therapies. “There is tremendous excitement over the life-changing drug Trikafta, and great anticipation of the FDA’s current clinical trial to approve and expand its use to children as young as two,” says Bridges. “We are witnessing a new chapter of promise for children born today with CF, and Choate is so thrilled to be a partner in fueling that progress. However, it’s worth noting not all people with CF are able to take Trikafta. So, we won’t stop until everyone with CF has access to life-saving drugs like Trikafta. No one gets left behind.”
Bridges notes that the ever-growing event attracts serious car enthusiasts and long-time patrons alongside first-time car show attendees who have simply heard about the fun-raising and passion for a CF cure. “Once you experience the tremendous hope and progress in the CF community, you are hooked.”
Cars & ‘Q for the Cause promises entertainment for all ages. The car show boasts a variety of prize-winning automobiles, from classic sports cars to muscle, exotic, and rare finds and local firetrucks for the kids. Choate is excited to welcome a member of the Atlanta Braves as the master of ceremonies for the event. Patrons will enjoy a generous spread of BBQ from Jim ‘n Nicks; continuous pours from local vendors, including Deep Roots Wine Market & Tasting Room, From the Earth Brewing, New Realm Brewing Co., Pontoon Brewing Company, and STATS Brewpub, as well as silent auction items, live music, and friendly car competition.
Each year, Choate employee-owners make fundraising a top priority through internal fundraising and Cars & ‘Q for the Cause as their signature community event. Cars & ‘Q’s total proceeds are expected to top $3 million this year, and Choate remains one of the CFF’s top corporate fundraisers in the nation after raising more than $6 million to date.
Cars & ‘Q for the Cause takes place Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 3 to 6 pm. Tickets in advance are $20 for event entry and dinner and $40 for entry, dinner, and access to the bar (legal age permitting). Tickets rise to $30 and $50 on October 14th and may sell out.
