AMS VANS in Lawrenceville is opening their facility to host our winter event. We will be hosting Beth Gibson a local OT and Certified Driving Rehab Specialist from Freedom and Mobility to discuss when to refer to driver evaluation services and how to answer client questions about return to driving and driver evaluations.We will also having Dallas Crum onsite to allow us to see some of the adaptive vans and vehicles and discuss common modification options for our clients.
This topic affects all PT, OT and SLP therapists who work with older and aging adults.

What is a Meet Up? A Meet Up is when our group has a chance to host a live event in Georgia and meet up with local rehabilitation therapists. What makes our Meet Up different than our Social Events? Our Meet Ups allow us the opportunity to host a speaker and change venues to allow therapists to meet and exchange information with local hospitals, universities, businesses and community groups. While there is a built in time for socialization it is also an important time for our group to learn about resources and networks that can help support our clients and our professional development.
How can I host or sponsor a Meet Up?
The GTC networking group loves to host events in a variety of settings and locations across the state of Georgia. If you would like to coordinate an event please reach out to Julia McVicker at gtctherapy@gmail.com. We have a full sponsorship package and a variety of options for event hosting.
Do you offer CEUS for Meet Ups? No. At this time we do not host educational courses that result in CEUs from a pre-approved organization. Due to the variables between how CEUs are calculated across disciplines this is not a part of our current organizational structure. The goal of the GTC Networking events is to increase connections in the community and not provide educational training. See also our mission and vision statements for details.
