In the summer of 1993 while vacationing in Atlanta, Philadelphia natives Michael and Brenda had lunch at one of Georgia's cheesesteak restaurant chains, they said, it was a disappointing experience. This experience presented them with an ideal and a potential good opportunity to bring the original taste of the Philly Cheesesteak and Hoagie sandwich to Atlanta. After careful research and observation of the Georgia sandwich market, in February 1995 Mike and Brenda opened the doors of the first Gutbusters take-out restaurant located in the Westend near Morehouse, Spelman, Clark and Morris Brown Colleges in Atlanta, the heart of a thriving college community. The original Philly cheesesteak and hoagie sandwiches were an instant success. Over the years our customers have expressed their delight with our product and service, by their continued loyal support. Gutbusters has a simple moderately priced menu with an average ticket price being $8.00. Our "freshly cooked-to-order, quick service system” was implemented to provide a good quality tasting product made in a short amount of time.
