Druid Hills, a historic Atlanta neighborhood where Brookhaven is now located, was once a city in its own right. Brookhaven offers many activities and events throughout the year as well as some historical sites. The neighborhood also has numerous parks and recreational areas to explore. The Brookhaven, Druid Hills area of Atlanta is filled with history and beautiful parks. The most popular is the Briarcliff Candler Park, also known as Druid Hills Park or simply as "the park." The Briarcliff section includes not only the main park area but also the smaller (and less visited) Druid Hills Park at Monroe Drive and McDaniel Street. There's also a walking path along Peachtree Street and into Piedmont.
