Little Five Points
About Little Five Points
Little Five Points, Georgia (nicknamed "L5P") is a small "funky" offbeat area in Atlanta which would give you a unique experience and a place to walk around and enjoy the unusual sights.
The name comes from the intersection created by the five points of intersecting streets in the center of downtown Atlanta.
Right on the streets you will find musicians playing their creations, artists showing their artwork for your purchase, and other sidewalk vendors.
If you make it a point to come close to Halloween, the streets are crowded with ghosts and goblins in this annual celebration with people in costumes, jack-o-lanterns, etc. It is all topped off with a parade featuring bikers in costume, local celebrities and bands, floats, etc. All of this is free of charge.
A very unusual restaurant is The Vortex, which is known for its burgers, and you are greeted with a giant skull at its entrance!
Among 120 small businesses you will find vintage apparel, tattoo parlors, coffee shops, three theaters, novelty shops such as Junkman's Daughter, a natural foods store, bookstores, record stores, an independent record label (DB Records), a music school, fine restaurants, and much more.
It is close to several parks if you want to continue on to more placid surroundings.
