Spring Dance Series: Jazz Fusion

Moving in the Spirit is hosting a six-week open class series for movers of all ages.

Children, parents, grandparents, dancers, and dance lovers – all are welcome!

This spring's open series features Jazz Fusion with Leon Von Brown.

Incorporating elements from jazz, modern, ballet, and aerobics, Jazz Fusion delivers a fun and energetic dance experience for all.

About the Series:
Moving in the Spirit's open class series is a place for the community to move together, have fun, and explore different styles of dance in a low-stress, friendly environment.

Students in this series come from a range of experiences - some have danced before, while others are exploring their curiosity of dance for the first time. Parents and children often take class together, as do friends, neighbors and co-workers looking for an upbeat bonding activity.

No formal dance training is required!

About Leon Von Brown, teaching artist:

Leon Von Brown is a former principal dancer in Dianne McIntyre’s Sounds in Motion modern dance company in NYC, where he also founded his own dance company, Cosmic Energy. An international master teacher specializing in jazz and modern dance, he has taught in Europe and studied in NYC with Luigi, Frank Hatchett, Baba Chuck Davis, Fred Benjamin, Dianne McIntyre, and Barbara Sullivan, to name a few!

Mr. Von Brown is also a notable early childhood educational specialist who served in the Dekalb County school system until his retirement in 2018, most notably as an English as a Second Language teacher. Leon brings a wealth of knowledge, history and insight to his engaging teaching styles - pushing students to enjoy themselves while learning the art of technical training.

Class Rates
Individual Class Rates:

Adults (ages 18+): $20/class
Children & Seniors: $15/class
Moving in the Spirit students, families, & alumni: $15
Class Pass* (six classes per pass):

General Public: $90 ($15 per class)
Moving in the Spirit students, families, & alumni: $75 ($12.50 per class)
* Students who purchase a Class Pass will receive their pass when they arrive for their first class. Passes will be stamped each subsequent class upon arrival. Moving in the Spirit cannot refund unused classes.
