Gunshow owner and chef Kevin Gillespie and the team at Gunshow invite guests to meet Karen Akunowicz for the launch of her new cookbook “Crave, Bold Recipes That Make You Want Seconds." The James Beard Award-winning chef and owner of Boston's Fox and the Knife and Bar Volpe will be signing her book at the Glenwood Park restaurant on Sunday, Oct. 29 starting at 5 p.m.
Akunowicz’s new cookbook features vibrant dishes showcasing her career and rise as one of America's brightest culinary stars. Foodies may recall her from 2015 when she became a fan-favorite on Bravo’s Emmy-nominated "Top Chef." She offers a unique take on cooking many different cuisines including Italian, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Taiwanese and Southeast Asian and presents an engaging style of teaching. The book, organized by flavor and texture from crispy and crunchy to hearty and homey and sweet and luscious, features 100 recipes including tomato salad with toasted sesame vinaigrette, ginger scallion lobster, smoky eggplant dip and more.
During the event, Gunshow chefs will serve small bites from the book, and guests will take home a signed copy.
